The Money market.
Meßsrs Charles Pownall and Co., scriveners, report : — The money market remains m the same dormant Btato that has now so long existed. The supply for mortgage investment is sufficient for tiie demand, if limited to moderate amounts, and is generally confined to taking up old mortgages falling m, aud releasing Government deferred payments. Rates of interest rule at 7£ to 8 per cent., very good securities being negotiable at the lower quotations.
