Iv this evening's '-Star appear a few of the hundreds of testimonials rt-ceived by Mr Hiichkns, one of which is from one of Auckland's best known citizens. It requires no further comment than to say that his illtieß3 was of a most severe type, baffling the skill of medical men, while other infallible remedies were tried without the slightest change for the better. Here is what Captain Fat qu liar says of Hitchens' Blood Restorer. ; • Auckland, October 15, 1883. I" Dear Sir, — For twelve months I suffered severely from sciatica, and tried various remedies, without avail, and as a last resource- 1 was recommended to give your blood restorer a trial, which I did, and I have much pleasure m testifying that after taking it for three months I completely recovered my health. I must say I had no faith m it at first, but the result was such a thorough cure that I consider it my duty to acknowledge; unsolicited, its curative powers.- — I am, Sir, faithfully •.; y<urs, W. Farquhau, Master" Mariner, Ponsonby. To H. A. H. Hitchens, Esq. The Proprietor would here intimate that £1000 will be forfeited to any Charitable Institution if the good done by his medicine has been, over-estimated. The proprietor is prepared to meet on a public platform any persons who dispute the veracity of testimonials, and he will undertake to prove the genuineness of the cure 3 effected. He is also willing to meet m public the medical gentlemen who have attended the patients and have pronounced them incurable, and answer questions put relative 'to the facts of the c-ises quoted. Medical men's names have, from motives of consideration, been excluded from all testimonials, but then personal acknow ledgement would add increased brilljancy to the fame of the medicine. ' Mr Alexander Eagleton Hairdresser, of Queen-street, Auckland, suffered with a paralysed arm, with | every indication of the disease spreading i through the body. The doctors pronounced the case hopeless, and friends believed his end was drawing near, when he was' induced to give Hitchens 1 Blood Resiorer a ir!:d. the; result being an immediate chanp'p.for the better; and on. continuing to take the medicine, he was completely restored to health and strength. Sheridan-street, off Wellington street, Auckland, December ], 1882. Mr Kitchens. ■ ' ... Dear Sir, — As you have asked me to describe my state at the time Mr McMillan recommended mo to use your Blood Restorer, and the effect it ha.l on me. I will simply say that whether it was Lumbago, Sciatica; or Paralysis that made me so helpless, I d<> not know ; but, at any rate, I wasunable'to stand for nine months, and had to bo lifted like a baby, nnd my taste was gone. Dr said I had an affection of the spine, and that I should never have the use of my limbs again. He brought another medical man to see m<\ and I was fold that I would probably live only a short time, and it toas no use of their holding ovt false hopes. I thanked them, and felt as they did. Mr McMillan, livi g opposite, inquired what was the matter, and my husband told him. He at once said. " Let her take Mr Hitchens' Bloort Resto.rer, for I believe that will put her nil right." I did so, and after using the third bottle m the third week, I began to feel a change, and a tingling sensation m my limbs. Every subsequent bottle seemed to do me more good. The result is that after using eight bottles I am now quite well, do my own washing, and all the housework, and feel quite as well as when I first came to New Zealand five years ago. I am always happy to tell people the good you did me, for I am sure I should not now be well and hearty, but most lik«-ly m my grave, if I had not put myself m your hands. — I am, dear sir, yours faithfully, FLORA NirOL. Witness — Henry Hartnoll, Nel son street. — I have much pleasure m testifying to the perfect accuracy of the above statement McMillan, Vulcan Lane, Auckland. H. A.
