A Chinaman named Ah Goon has been found dead m his shop m Little Bourke -street, with wounds m his head, tending to show that he had been murdered. It is believed that robbery was the incentive case. No arrests have been made. The destruction of tho*grand stand on tho Melbourne cricket ground by fire was accidently caused by a smoker leaving a lighted cigar m it on Saturday evening. The building cost £6000, of which £3000 was in^ sured m thp Indemnity P<unpany. fortunately ttye pavilion was untouched.
