AUSTRALIAN MUTUAL PROVIDENT SOCIETY.
Our Sydney telegrams announce the result of the seventh quiquennial investigation of the Australian Mutual Provident Society, and disclose the astounding fact that the society's profits for the five years ending 31st December last, reached the enormous snm of £1, 156,1 95. Of this magnificent sum, the directors distribute among the fortunate policyholders, the sum of a sum larger than has even been realised or divided m respect of a period of five years by any other office m the British Empire. This amount provides reversionary bonuses to the policies, amounting to «^2,Q34593. The resident secretary of tne society m Wellington, Mr E. W. Lowe, informs a Wellington paper that the distribution of the quinquennial reports takes place at once, throughout the whole colony, and the bonus certificates will be posted to the members on the 27th instant. The bonuses alloted, we are also informed, will astonish the recipients, and cannot be even distantly approached by those of any other life office m the world. We heartily congratulate the members of the society, and cannot withhold our praise of the management which has produced such astonishing results.
