(REUTERS' TELEGRAMS.} Caibo, Aujru&t 20. ■ The Nile is falling steadily and the passage of the cataracts by which|it was proposed to convey the British expedition to Khartoum m boats is now impossible. It is believed that the despatch of Ihe proposed expedition viathc Nile Valley Dongola will beabandoned, and that troops will be despatched from Sounkim across tho desert and by way of Berber to Khartoum.
