DESIRABLE SETTLERS.
From private advices we (Auckland Herald) learn that Mr Samuel Grant, lately delegate, m conjunction with Mr Foster, from Lincolnshire, has been commissioned to proceed to this colony to inspect and value some of the largest and most desirable estates m the North Island, with a view to their subdivision. It is his intention to return to England m the month of November next, and he will then be prepared to offer these properties for sale to intendingpurchasers. His personal inspection will enable him to say what he thinks of the several farms submitted, and to furnish all necessary information respecting their position, state of improvement, andfacilities of access by rail or water to the principal towns. The purpose is to induce practical farmers, possessed of experience and some means, to emigrate from the Old Country to settle m this young and promising colony. Mr Grant was a passenger by the lonic to Auckland.
