CORRESPONDENCE.
Spiritualism. (TO THE EDITOR OP THE STANDARD.) Sib, — Would you kindly give room m your paper for these few lines. The motto of the Psychological Association, "Hold fast to that which is good," is, no doubt, m itself a good one, and so might the Association be too, if God had instituted it. But it says m God's word, there is only one way to inherit eternal life, through faith m Christ Jesus. No doubt Jesus would, while here on earth, have formed an Association with his Apostles, and made them Mediums, but he was only here as a Saviour for us. After the flesh it all looks very nice, and is something to pass the time away with, but God does not tell us to do it, so it must be the Devil. Either God's word must be a lie and this irue, or God would not have told us the way. He wants us to go, as plain as He has done in> His word, and everyone can see for himself, i But the flesh will, and can find time for any other thing than God's word, and will believe any other thing as long as it is of the world ; and as the world belongs to Satan, why shouldn't he try to keep up their worldly minds with things that would divert their thoughts from God's word. The world and Satan passeth away, and will be cast into the lake of fire, but the Word remaineth for ever. Will Spiritualism make you wise unto salvation ? God's word will tell you. As we rightly fear, souls are going to hell every minute, and Satan smiles | serenely at all such, and Spirits and Trance Mediums might lead you to | hell i one sure thing, they won't lead I you to heaven. " Hold fast to that ■which is good ; "as long as it is not i through Jesus, it is no good, and whether they preach sermons on Spiritualism, or profess Spiritualism, it is not all who say Father ! Father ! who shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth my Father's will. May God give everybody grace to see His will. We ask it all for Jesus' sake. Amen. — I am, &c, The Old Faith.
