The Directory of . the above factory met yestelday at the Company's office. | Present — Messrs .Ferguson (chair), ;G£(verJilll r -Bratt-, ■ $tohradj -Engei-v Win gate and the Manager. \ The minutes' of previous ' meeting were tead^arid confirmed. ; The Chairman started that since las*"- meeting the Secretary with Messrs Wingate, Monvad, and himself had interview Mr Botherain at. tiie^factory m! reference £o';a. jjecond^ crossing, andViaTM'r Kottfetam had promised. to lay the. matter before the Department. Resolved— -That tenders be called for the supply of twelve milk cans to hold five gallons each, these to be m addition to the fifty ten gallon cans mentioned m a resolution passed last meeting. = Resolved — That -the fadtor-y be insured for the sum of £330, .and th« machinery now there for £80. The matter of the supply of kegs, the keg; from Sydney having arrived, was fully discussed. ' ' > Mr Cook, cooper, who was present, strongly recommended that the kegs be made of seasoned tawa (split,) and with reference to prices^^stated The would supply them to size and shape required for 5s each. Mr Cook was requested to make his offer m writing- , . - I -- , As Mr Cook had only • a small quantity of the required wood on hand it, was proposed by Mr Fergusson and seconded by Mr Caverhill and earned — That the^Meoretar^ ascertain if seasoned split tawa staves can be procuredyin Wellington at 'a reasonable price 1 and if 'so tliat Mr Cook' be instructed to make a number, of the Sydney shaped kegs at once; " ' ; Proposed by Mr Fergusson and seconded by Mr Caverhill and carried — That Mr Cook be requested to procure split tawa staves m order to have them properly seasoned and that he beirequested to supply tho factory with kegs at the price he has quoted and m quantities a.?..required. A report was received from the committee appointed to consider Mr Akers' suggestion re disposal of milk, and it was Absolved that the matter lie held hi abeyance until next meeting. : The can ordered from * Wanganni had arrived bub was considered too large for the requirements of the Company.
