It stated that the question of tlie route for a connecting railway from tin* present Foxton-New Plymouth line to Wood villfrvvitl* He dafefrtlty "considered* be-" fore any works are undertaken ; but as. the funds' at , presentjat^the disposal of-' the Government -are not even sufficient to connect the through, Hue £b Napier, whicfi is' considered of primary importance, it is not probable , that any works can be undertaken on the connecting line for some time to come.
