Forty seven horses have accepted for the Hawkesbury Cup Handicap, forty-five for the County Purso, and forty-two for the Metropolitan Stakes. Tho acceptances are considered very satisfactory. Melbourne, August 4. The following scratchings for. the Cup have been posted to-day : — Bonne Fortune, Chloe, Elocution, Forward, Hawthorn, Marshal Ney, Metal, Napier, Sheela Sheet, Anchor, and Stafford. August 5. The following further Cup scratchings are posted : — Buchingham, Favo, First Demon, Jessie, Kathleen, Liverpool, Maggie Moore, Oudeis, Princess Lome, and Wing. Adelaide, August 5. Arrived, this morning — Steamship Sorata, from Plymouth.
