Manawatu Road Board.
THIS DAY. Present —Wardens Snelson, (chair), Akers, Sly, Pratt, Edwards; also the clerk and engineer. Debit bank balance statod to be £798 6s lOd, to which has to be added additional liability making m all £954 6s lOd. The clerk stated he had been with the engineer examining the deferred payment account, Kairanga JBlock, and had found that some £50 had been expended there over and above the actual amount received from the Government. In reply to a communication from the Surveyor-General the clerk was instructed to reply to the effect that the £50 had been spent m opening up . Crown lands. Application from Mr W. Knight to fall bush on road line. Resolved— That application be granted and that amount to be paid for such not to exceed 30s per acre. The Treasury notifying that £156 had been passed to the credit ot the Board on account of deferred payrment, Kairanga survey district. ' Application from J. S. Watchorn to erect fence. Granted. From Mayor of Feilding, applying for assistance for improvements to cemetery. Clerk instructed to write, to the- effect that the Board is not at present m a position to assist. From P. Stevens re impassable state of Bunnythorpe road, Wilson's line. Resolved to write to the effect that a further loan is expected from Government which will be expended as soon as received. ■ .
