Stock Hale. ♦ Mr Snelson held a' more successful stock sale to-day at the Fitzherbert Yard than we have had the pleasure of recording for a long time past. The demand both for sheep and cattle was far in excess of supply and from 100 to 150 head of cattle could have been quitted under the' hammer had they been there to offer. The same may be said in respect of sheep for which there were several buyers who had to go away disapDointed. The following are some of the quotations. Cattle : Cows with calf at foot, froin £5 2s 6d to £5 ss ; springing cows, .J_4 to £5 ss ; cows in calf, L3 to L3 7s 6d ; heifers, 30s. Sheep : Ewes, 6s. There was a very good attendance and competition lively.
