MELBOURNE MARKETS.
Melbourne, July 29. The Melbourne manager of the National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand (Limited) reports of the local grain market as follows :— Wheat, 4s to 4s o£d. The market is firmer. Malting barley is neglected at 3« 9d to 4s 6d. New Zealand oats—feeding sorts, 2s lOd'to 3s Id. Prices aro barely maintained. Milling sorts, 3s 2d to 3s 3d. The market is weaker. New Zealand oats, under bond, 2s 2d to 2s 5d.; THE TIMBER MARKET. The same company report the sale of cargo of kauri timber at the following average prices: — At. per 100 ft super — Hewn logs, 13s to 14s Gd. A firm and active demand was experienced.
