SPORTING NEWS.
A meeting of the stewards of the Wellington Earing Club was held on Friday last, Mr J. 3. M. Thompson, vice-president, m the chair. The Ti'easttter submitted a most satisfactory balance-sheet for the past year, showing a cash credit balance m the club's bank account of £140. Mr T. 0. Jenkins was appointed to audit the club's accounts, which will be submitted to the members of the club at the annual meeting to be held at the Empire Hotel on Tuesday next at 8 o'clock'p.m. The stewards, m their annual report, will recommend that a two day's spring meeting be held m November next, at whioh shakes of the value of 46QQ should, he. givon away.
