The full force of the Wellington water supply was to have been turned on terdayA Wellington paper has the following m its notice to correspondents : — "A communication sent lo us by a member ber of the Psychological Association of Palmerston has unfortunately been mislaid. We shall be obliged if our correspondent will write again." The China Navigation Company's steamer Chang Chow is to follow the Tamsui for Wellington. Some people m the past have waited till the poll had closed, and thus through thetr own carelessness, lost the opportunity of exercising the franchise. Some of the electors are still indulging m betting, and we would advise them to cry off before it is too late. Three of the Hawko's Bay lawyers have expressed an opinion that such wagers invalidate a vote. , • • The Returning Officer requests us, m order to prevent iufonnal voting, to remind voters that they must only leave on the paper the name of the person they wish to vote for, m other words they must mark out the names they are hot m favor of. Further additions are made to Messrs Stevens and Gorton's stock sale at Awahuri on Thursday. Wo again remind our readers of the lecture to be delivered m the Foresters' Hall on Wednesday evening by the Very ttev. Father keweuant and which it is expected will be a great intellectual treat. After the lecture there will be a concert. The admission is fixed at a very moderate sum, and there should be a large attendance. A correspondent asks, " Can it be discovered on which side a persou has voted ?" The reply is emphatically NO. Theseorecy of the ballot is absolute. I
