Some person lias spread a rumour abroad that the candidates can find out how votes are recorded. This is a pure invention. No person can ascertain by any means whatever, how a vote is recorded. Electors need have no misgivings on this head. We are sorry to hear Mr J. P. Leary is suffering from a severe atttack of neuralgia. Some ill-conditioned fellow daubed the front and side walls of MrLin ton's rooms with black paint last night. The perpetrator should be proud of his handiwork. This is the last day of Signor Hug's stay m Palmerston, as he. leaves for Feilding by the first train to-morrow.
