MR MACARTHUR AT KARERE.
Mr Macarfchur has requested us to make the following corrections m the report of his meeting at Karere. In speaking to the question of the Longburn junction, he said that he fought with Messrs Hulcombe, Snelson, Linton, and other public men of the district, who squid c.la,iru, t\\e credit of/ having got it the.re. In reference to our late member Mr Walter Johnston, Mr Macarthur said that if he (Mr Johnston) came forward he would support any other local man m opposing- him. Speaking of the Hare system he said he considered it too theoretical to ensure a better sysfera of representation,
