Wellington froduce Markets*
Wednesday, Afternoon. Laery & Campbell report :— " During the past week there has been literally no business worth notice ; owing, no doubt, to the constantly recurring election. Grain of all sorts, and potatoes, are being offered more freely by the southern producers and market easier, wheat being offered m sacks at £8 per ton. Oniont are very hard to procure, and we anticipate that prices will rule high ere long. Butter is offered freely ; but, as explained on former occasions, the Sydney market— our only outlet — is so depressed that there is no inducement to buy except at very low prices. Other dairy produce is scarce, aud tne market is almost bare of fruit.
