MR FRASER AT TAONUI.
Mr Fraser met the electors ia tht schoolh Kiae Taonni,ori the 15th iust.,. Mr Wm. Bailey m the chair. The following question* were put and answered. In reply to Mr Wildbore, Mr Eraser was m juror of fencing Hoes of railway to avoid accidents. In reply to Mr 15. Sexton, he w»s m faror of leasing education reserves and not selliug them. Also of selling lands on deferred payments, such payments to be extended over as Jong a time as possibly and the pi ice to below, aud. any profits whatever to be teturnud to the. land m the shape of roads. Also that he was opposed to a nonpolitical board of management for our railways and would assist, local manufactures as much as possible. Also that £100 was sufficient ior the honorarium. , ■ In reply to Mr Goldfinoh, "Mr Frauer would 1 reduce the cost of education, by abolishing ' free high. schools, and would only teach up to the 4th Standard. : In reply to Mr Sexton again, Mr Fraser would be m favor of the Orou* Valley route of railway. In reply to Mr Wildbore, he would support a Bill to prevent young girls being barmaid*. Also that he would not abolish thY - tolls, on the Manawatu bridge, but: would endeavoitr 16 get the Governmenc x to erect it so that no tolls would then be required,. if rnfci m\ -~ih v^\ y \om*?mmßsm*m favor the junction bsing at Palmers* ton.. " . . ..; -.. Mr Walter Bailey proposed a vote of confidence, Mr Goldfinch seconds ing, whloh was carried, only one hand held up against it. Tne usual couipliroeht to the chair terminated the proceedings.
