Donald Eraser, proposed by Mr Sly, seconded by Mr Pratt. The show of hands was declared as follows :-- D. H; Macarthur, 53 ; D. Eraser, 42 j A. Burr, 9.. The result •was greeted with cheers. Mr Burr demanded that ' a poll be taken, «s also diCMc Sly on behalf of Mr Eraser. ■ . All throe candidates spoke, and Mr Macarthur was greeted with great acclamation. The proceedings were on the whole oiderly. The full report of the proceedings Is unavoidably held over till to-mor-row. ]•■■ ■_
