THE signals in case of fire are given in the following manner: — Toll the bell rapidly, then pause in ringing for a few seconds. Make 1, 2, 3, or 4 single . strokes, indicating the number of the Ward in which the fire in. Pause again for a few seconds, and afterwards ring the bell again ; and ho alternately.
