(united press association.) Duskdiv, July 8. At the Supreme Coutt today, Thos. Fly nn was found guilty of perjury committed m the Resident Magistrate's Couit at Palnierstpn South. He brought an action there to recover L4O from Mrs Brown, a widow, who is a hotel keeper, and swore that he gave her L2O m cash for him,, and that she also detained a cheque for the value of L2O. It was proved that Mrs Brown got no cash from him, and that she gave him change for the cheque in' full. Sentence was deferred pending the decision of the Court of Appeal on a point of law reserved. The Sustentation Fund for the halfyear of the Presbyterian Church, amounts to L 5023 enabling a dividend of LIOB 10s to be paid.

Auckland, July 8. At the inquest of John Beit, «-ho oora nutted suicide, the jury returned the following verdict; — Deceased was tound dead with a bullet wound m the head. It is believed to be selfinflioted, but there is no evidence to show m what state of mind deceased was at the time. He had lost L6OO m Te Aroha scrip speculations. Deceased was a native of Hamburg.

Tattiunga, July 8.
