In the House of Commons to-day the motion of Sir Stafford Northcote, declaring 'that ' the AngloFrench agreement regarding Egypt will neither lead to the peace of that country nor justify an English loan to Egypt, came up for discussion. | After some debate the House, by a majority of 42 refused to discuss the motion, because it was deemed untimely. The motion, therefore, has been postponed indefinitely. Caieo, July 1. Major Kitchener, . who has returned to Assouan from his expedition to the Nubian desert, maintains that there is the fullest evidence that Berber has fallen into the hands of the rebels. Rome, July 1. • A death from cholera has occurred here, and fear is entertained that the disease is spreading.
