Bernard Junes a naval artilleryman, shot himself tonight with h:s carbine m his bedroom owing to a love affair with a girl Mary Ann McKenna, who was leaving Auckland to morrow. She *as engaged to another young man. Tho bullet went into the breast over tljchdait, coming out at the shoulder-blade and striking the wall. Jones died at 9 I o'clock. 1 He met the girl m the street «t 5 o'clock and bade her good-iyc, t-aying she would never; see hi n alive again. He had been drinking. •
