THE PALL OF BERBER. FURTHER PARTICULARS. / A TERRIBLE MASSACRE. THE REBELS ADVANCING. (ELECTBIO TELEGRAPH.— -COPYRIGHT) (SPECIAL TO UNITKD PKKBS ASSOCIATION.) Losdon, June 12. The Times' correspondent, telegraphing from Cairo, states that 1800 of the garrison and mobt-pfthe -resi dents of Berber were massacred by the followers of the Mahdi. The engagement was a most severe one, and the slaughter of the defender* only commenced after their ammum tion was exhausted. The Governor of Berber was taken prisoner. Thirty thousand of the rebels are now marching on Dongola. Received June 16$, 11.30 a.m. June 14. Mahdi, with a force of 35,000, is marching against Dongola, and the Governor of that town proposes to evacuate it, to the rebels without an otFer of resistance.
