Juno 13. In the House of commons, the Representation of People Bill was again under consideration m committee. The amendment, which had been, introduced for the purpose of extending the Parliamentary franchise to women, was, after a debate, negatived on a division, by a majority of: 130. InIhe course of the debate, Mr Gladstone stated that the Government would not be answerable for the bill it' the amendment were canied.
