♦ [Examiner.] Messrs Lowes and lorns will hold a stock sale at Woodville on Saturday, June 28th. If Wairainpa buyers can be induced to visit "Woodville, it will form the great centre of exchange between the east and westjeoasfcs and if stock were brought to Woodville, they might find a ready market from Wairarapa buyers. Woodville will be a great auctioneering centre some day, and meanwhile settlers should give what support they can to any auctioneering firm which may have the* enterprise to do business here. Dr Atterbury has resolved on leaving the district, having received an appointment to the Coromandel Hospital. Ho left "Woodville 10-day to take the steamer en route to Auckland from Napier. His leaving the district will be a matter of general regret. The Good Templars are having a petition signed for the admission of women to the suffrage iv. thfj gase of Hoensing matters, also to provide for the issue of all licenses subject to the direct vote of the people, and the passing of the Local Option Extension Act. Messrs Knorpp and Cavr arrived m Woodville on Wednesday night with a view, we understand, to taking action m connection with the Man* watu bridge. It is time the Government took steps to have the work pushed on more vigorously.
