Further additions are made to Messrs Stevens & and Gorton's catalogue for the Bulls sale to take place next Tuesday, commencing at 1 p.m. Messrs Halcombe and Sherville's next stock sale at Ash u rat will take place at their yards there on Wednesday next, commencing at 1.30 p.m. The concert for the purpose of assisting Mr Partridge to purchase another horse m lieu of that recently drowned will take place on Tuesday evening. An excellent programme is rehearsal. The Feilding Variety Company is announced to give an entertainment tomorrow evening m tho Foresters' Hall. The programme will consist of farces, commie drama, and popalar concert. ■We remind our readers of Mr Snelson's salo of fruit trees, shrubs, &c, from Mr Hanneke's nursery, to take place tomorrow at tho People's Mart at 2 p.m. The following nominations have been received for the vacancy m the Education Board : Thomas Awdry, South Makirikiri ; J< W. Baker, Warrengate ; J. H. Fry, Makino Road. Mess Halcome and Sherwill advertise m another column their second sale of stock, to take place at Ashuret on Wednesday, the 18th inst. As the first sale was a fair success we expect that the coming one will be still better. The fact- that prices for fat cattle are slightly advanced will be an encouragement to vendors. After a lengthy tour over some of tho principal countries of Europe, Mr Hugli, formerly watchmaker- of Feilding, has returned to Feiming, where he will recommence,,business. The Wellington and Manawatu Railway Company are calling for tenders for No-. 2, Station contract. A sentimental writer asks : " Whati s more cunning than a baby's hand ?" " Well, four kings and an ace are 99 per cent, more cunning, and rake m the pot uefirly evbry time. 5 This may not be the right answer, but it will do to bet on."
