The Scab Act.

IMPORTANT PROSECUTION. (united press association.) Blenheim, June 2. The Sheep Department have laid an information under the Scab Act against Phillip Meßae, of Blairich, and William Pollard, of Birch Hill. The information against Mcßae alleges that he Loins; the owner of 19,000 infected sheep, did neglect to keep rams separate from the ewes before the inspector had granted a clean certificate for such ewes. The information agaiusb Pollard alleges that he was convicted on the 12th November of being owner of 2000 infected sheep, and that after the expiration of six months they still continue to be infected. Both informations came before the Resident Magistrate's Court to-day, and were adjourned to allow defendants to muster their sheep.
