PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, May 27; Tn Taw Mao, Tawhiao's son, writes that all the natives at Whatiwhatihoe have signed a petition asking that the sale of liquor be prohibited m the King Country. The Harbor Board wrote to Mr Wardell. C.E., of Sydney; asking him if he could come to Auckland to report on the proposed Galliope dock, but his reply was m the n"g.\tive. Sir G. Grey leaves for Grisborno on Thursday to deliver an address there. His Excellency, the Governor, Lady, and Miss Jervois, left this evening for Onehunga. The Hinemoa sails for Wellington at daybreak. An Italian named Dommonico Barato was arrested while leaving by the Zealaudia, on a charge of wife desertion at Wellington. One hundred and fifty pounds were found m his possession. His wife is said to be- left destitute. .
