The match was continued to- (.lav at Lords. The Home team with nine wickets down, and 465 tuns to their credit, continued their first innings, and t lie innings closed for a total of 481 runs. The Australians went m for their first innings smd succeeded m putting together 184 runs. The fielding of the Home team wns on the whole pronounced rather weak. The Australians, being 297 behind their opponents, had to follow on, but m their second innings were only able to add 182 to their first score. The Marylebone Club thus won the match m one innings with 115 runs to spare. The Australians lost the services of Midwinter, who had injured his hand and was unable to bat.
