RAILWAY MANAGEMENT.
This Nelson Mail says ;— " It has been found necessary m Victoria to remove the control of the railways from the Ministry of the day, and to vest it m the hands of a Board at the head of which has been placed an officer of high standing imported from England for the express purpose. That a somewhat similar step will have to be taken here is becoming more and more clear every
year, and nothing perhaps could have tended to hasten it more than the penny a bushel which has raised such ' a hubbub about Ministers 1 ears.'
