Wellington Produce markets. Wednesday, Afternoon. Leary and Campbell report :— " While there is no great improvement m business, there is a steady hand to mouth trade which works through a considerable quantity of goods during the week. Oats are hardening considerably, and the prices asked at shipping ports are quite equal to our last quotations. Feed •wheat, 2s 6d to 3s 6d according to sample ; peas, beans and maize are asked for, but the market is bare ; sharps and bran hare improved considerably and may be quoted, the former at £5 to £5 5s and the latter at £4 15s to £5 ; oatmeal, £12 15s to £13, with upward tendency. Onions still remain unsaleable, ana" are nominglly worth £6 to £7 ; a parcel was sold last week under instructions for immediate remittance, at £5. Fruit continues to realise unsatisfactory prices. Butter, less enquired for ; there are no eggs m the market ; poultry continues scarce but not much enquired for. The horse sales are still dull there being an absence of sellers. A small shipment of sheep, a mob of about 400 were quitted yesterday, the best pe*«is bringing 9s 3d to 9s 6d ; a pen of mixed stores brought 6s, and one pen of culls were hard to quit at 3s each.
