A correspondent complains of the conduct of certain larrikins as the Salvation Army meeting on Saturday eveniug last. He states that Captain Wilkinson ordered one of the scoffers outside. We understand Mr Nye has written to the Public Works Department recommending that sliding doors be made m the sides as well at the ends of the new railway goods shed at Pahnerston. The alteration will probably be carried into effect. It is Mr Franklin not Mr Fenton who is the purchaser of No. 2. booth at the Race Meeting next Saturday. Wo remind our readers of the inaugural meeting of St. Peters Young Men's Club and Institute to be held at the residence of the Rev.^Mr Copinger to-mor-row evening. There was a large attendance of worshippers at the Wesleyan Church last evening it being the occasion of Mr Bunn' special sermon to Young Men. The Rev. gentleman's discourse was full of sound admonition and excellent advice. A Young Men's Mutual Improvement Class is being started at the school house this evening. All are invited to attend. The class will be undenominational. The Wesleyan concert is to take place on Thursday week the 29th inst. A good story is told of a small boy at the Woodville school says the local paper. Wishing for a holiday, and not daring to ask either his parents or the master for the same, a bright idea suggested itself to the precocious youth. Instead of going into school with the other children, he got underneath the building, and took up a position immediately under the master's feet. The roll was being called, and on coining to the would-be truant's name, the master took a sudden leap into the air, for the answer " here " gave him a tremendous start. However, the matter was settled by the culprit being dragged forth and well birched. Use Hop Bitters onco and you will use no other medicine. Test it. Be sure and read.
