Serious Railway Accident.

(united press association.) Auckland, May 18. A serious accident occurred to the goods train on the Waikato line yesterday. The following are the particulars so far as is known. As the train went round a curve at Pukekohe a cow sprang on the line. The engine struck her, and was thrown off the line with two trucks down the embankment into a swamp. The driver and fireman had a narrow escape and some of the passengers receiyed contusions. The engine lying m the swamp is ouc of the latest imported from. England.
