Our Torpedo Boats.
(united press association.}' Dunedint, May 9. The hulls of the torpedo boats, which arrived by the Lyttelton, measure 63ft m length, with a breadth of 7ft Gin. They are built entirely of steel, and, as they are on a level with the water, are tine indeed ; and, as they have no decks, they will present a very peculiar appearance. For. their ; f / entire length from the bow toward* the stern, they are covered with a kind of turtle-backed roof, which gives protection to the crew and increases the engine's pace; There w a-. small tower of steel, above which, on a flat roof, will be mounted. a JSToi> denfelt gun. The boats have two funnels, and on the fore-part will bo placed the torpedo, which will be worked by means of a tackle. McEvans J torpedo will be used. ■■'-. '
