Alterations are being made to the English Church parsonage previous to Mr Copinger taking possession. "Messrs Richter and Nant stead's tender was accepted to-day for the erection of Mrs Coletnan's house lately burned down, and which was insured for £250 m the New Zealand Insurance Company. Mr G. Hutchison has been asked to stand for Egmont, but has declined, as he will contest Wanganui. The late Major Nixon is to be given a military funeral.
