GREAT FIRE IN WELLINGTON.

ST. JOHN'S CHURCH BURNED TO THE GROUND. (united press association.) Wellington, This Day. St. John's Presbyterian Church and school-room m Willis-street were completely destroyed by fire at 6 this morning. The fire broke out m the school-room. Water was deficient, and the church was speedily enveloped m flames. The church was insured for L3OOO. Other buildings m the vicinity were either gutted or partially destroyed. The schoql-room had not been open since Tuesday night. The wind was high, and tie fire raged furiously. It was feared at one time the fire would sweep the whole street. Later. The fire is believed to be a clear ( case of incendiarism.
