Wellington Produce market.
Thursday Morning. Laerv and Campbell report :— " There has been a moderately fair business doing during the week. Fruit still moves but islowlv, and only first-class engage attention. Poultry is not by any means plentiful, but even so, it is not asked for. Eggs are much sought after, but coming forward. Salt butter remains worth about 8d per lb ; cheese, 4d to 4£d ; hams and bacon, 8d to lOd ; there is no maize m the market ; milling oats, 2s 8d to 2s 9d, and good heavy feed oats, 2s 4d to 2s 6d, at which prices there is not much left for shipper, after paying freight and charges ; wheat, 2s 6d to 3s 6d, according to sample ; potatoes, 50s. sacks m.. Other produce remains at prices as last quoted."
