King" PROGRAMME FOR THE DAY. 1. Handicap Hurdle Race of 25 soys. Nomiuafcion 1 soy, acceptance 1 soy, 2 miles, over 8 flights of hurdles 3ft 9in. To start at 11 a.m. sharp. 2. Hack Hurdle Race of 10 'soys — Once round the course, post entries of 1 soy, weight hot to be under 9 stone, open to all hordes that have never been enteied for any advertised race. Hack Races excepted. Jockeys to ride m colours. To start at 11.45 a.m. 3. Maiden Plate of 15 soys. — Entrance 30 shillings, weight for age, distance \\ miles, open to all horses that have never won. public money, prior to date of entry, hack laces excepted. Any horse entered for the above, winning" a race between date of entry and race, toeany a penalty of 51b. To start at 12.30 p.m. 4. Novel Race of 20 soys, once round the course, post entries of 1 soy, weight not to be less than 8 stone. For all horses which • have been the bona fide property of residents within the Borough boundary, since first day of January, 1884, and that have never been entered for an advertised race, hack races excopted. The winner of this race to become the property of the Stewards, and to be sold immediately after the race. Any other horse m the race may bo claimed for the sum of £20, the said sum to be paid to the owner, and any further sum realised, to go to the funds of the meeting. To start at 1.15 p.m. 5. Palmerston Guineas. A Handicap of 50 Guineas. Nomination 1 guinea, acceptance 2 guineas, distance, If miles. .To start at 2.30 p.m. 6. Trademen's Purse of 5 soys. Entrance 10s. Onco round the course. Catch weights. For bona fide business hacks, that have been used m connection with the working of auy business^ within the Borough for 3 months prior to date of race. 7. Flyimj Handicap of 25 soys.-— Nomination 1 soy, acceptance 1 soy, distance | of a- mile. To start at 3:45 p.m. 8. The Officials' Hack Race.— A Sweepstake of 1 soy, with 5 soys added. Once round the course. Weight not to be less than 12 stone. Open to hacks that have never won public money, the bona fide property of those who hold oiLce m connection *ith this meeting, either as Stewards, Office Bearers, or Committee. Competitors must ride their own horses, and appear m proper racing costume. To start at 4.30 jj.m. dominations will be received, addressed to the Secretary, at the Commercial Hotel, Palmerston orth, up to Monday, April 21, at 8 p.m. Weights will be declared on Monday, sth May. Entries and acceptances close on Thursday, 15th May, at 8 p.m. RULE& AND REGULATIONS. No Entry will be rceived for any Races except upon this condition, — That all disputes Claims Bnd Objections arising out of the racing shall be dcci fed by a majority of the Stewards present, or those whom they may appoiut. Their decision upon all points connected with the carrvinig out ot this Programme shall be final. When two or more horses start (the property of the same owner) a Distinguishing Colour must be worn, All persons intending to Withdraw horaes, are required to give Notice to that effect to the Secretary or Clerk of the Scales one half-hour before starsing. Any person neg lecting or refusing co comply with this rule, shall pay a fine of b n:.ys. to the Race Fund. All races to be run under the W.J.C. Kules.
