School Committee.

The Palmerston North School Committee lleld their usual monthly meeting last evening, present, all the members. . .' '. Head Master's Report. Si*,-— I have the honour to forward my monthly report. The average attendance for the last 4 weeks has been 213'6i The average toll for the same period has been 293, During this time 33 scholars have been admitted and 17 have left* making a gain of 16 to the school. The attendance too, shows a slight improvement there being an average ef 80 absent as against 91 of last month, still there is great room for improvement m this respect. Messrs Platt & Lambert made the sinks and did some glazing that was required. They report the pipe drain leading from the urinal, as being choked up, which leads to the unwholesome smell arising therefrom. — I am, &c, Feancis E. Watson. An application was received from Mra. Harvey for new register, furniture &c., for the Terraae End School. The Chairman was requested to attend to this matter. An agreement with regard to the * lease of the Terrace End Hal for 12 months' was laid before the meeting m relation to which it was resjlved the document be referred to the Board fur its approval: The following accounts were passed for payment :— W. Park, L 2 2s 6d; F. W. Venn, L 6 7a Id ; A. Ferguson, 3s ; Lawrensou, 12s. The meeting then adjourned.
