Kin<* PROGRAMME FOR THE DAY. 1. Handicap Hurdle Race of 25 soys. Nomination 1 soy, acceptance 1 soy, 2 miles, over 8 flights of hurdles 3ft 9in. v To start at 11 a.m. sharp. 2. Hack Hurdle Race of 10 % soys— Once round the course, post of 1 soy, weight not to be under 9 stone, open to all hoives that have never been enteied for any advertised ruce. Hack Races excepted. Jockeys to ride m colours. To start at 11.45 a.m. 3. Maiden Plate of 15 soys.— Entrance 30 shillings, weight fur age, distance 1| miles, open- to all horses that have never won public money, prior to date of entry, hack l aces excepted. Any horse entered for the above, winning- a race between date of entry aud race, to carry a penally of 51b. To start at 12.30 p.m. 4. Novel Race of 20 sov.s, once , round the course, post entries of 1 soy, weight not to be less than 8 stone. For all horses which have been the bona fide property of residents wilhin the Borough boundary, since first day of January, 1884, and that have uever' been entered for an advertised race, hack races excopted. The winner of this race to become the property of the Stewards, and to be sold, immediately after the race. Any other horse m the race may be claimed foi the sum of £20, the said sum to be pail to the owner, and any further sum realised, to go to the funds of the meeting. To start at 1.15 p.m. 5. Palmerston Guineas. A Handicap of 50 Guineas. Nomination 1 guinea, acceptance 2 g-uinoas, distance, If miles. To start at 2.30 p.m. 6. Tradesmen's Purse of 5 soys. Entrance 10s. Ouce round the course. Carch weights. For bona fide business hacks, that have been used m connection with the working of 'any business, within the Borough for 3 months prior to date of race. ° 7. Flying Handicap of 25 soys. — Nomination 1 soy, acceptance 1 soy, distance f of a mile. To s^rt at 3.45 p.m. 8. The Officials' Hack Race.— A Sweepstake of 1 soy, with 5 soys wdded. Once round the course. Weight not to be less than 12 stone. Open to hacks that have never won ! public money, the bona lide property of those who hold oiiice m connection .with this meeting, either as Stewards, Office Bearers, or Committee. Competitors must ride their own horses, and appear m proper racing costume. To start at 4.30 p.m. r bminations will be received, addressed to the Secretary, at the Commercial Hotel, Palmerston . orfch, up to Monday, April 21, at 8 p.m. Weights will be declared on Monday, sih May. Entries and acceptances close on Thursday, 15th May, at 8 p.m. RULES AND REGULATIONS. No Entry will be rceivtd for any Races except upon. -tint, condition,— That all Disputes Claims and Objections arising out of the racing shall be dcci led by a majority of the Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint.
