A HEAVY INDICTMENT.
Probably to those who think the matter worih reflecting- on, what " Labout" the Auckland periodical, says will be worth consideration : — • In fifteen years the Continuous Ministry have maimed the prospects of the country for the remainder of the century ; they have loaded its inhabitants with debt ; they have played havoc with its public lands ; and they have almost, exhausted its credit. All these things have been done to make few people rich. These who have not been m the " ring" have hard work to make both, ends meet. ... . We must go back aud start afresh. ... The present land policy .of perpetual leasing, must not ouly be maintained, but two other things will have to be be done. The prevention of any further alienation, and a scheme devised for the resumption or expropriation of the rural freehold lauds throughout the colony.'
