.-,-.. . i; L"Post.J •'■• Asomewhat peculiar action against a medical man residing iv the country has been: commenced by a person who considers that he is entitled to conij ensation for what he alleges lo have been unskilful treatment on the 'part; of the disciple of j&lsculapius. The plaintiff is a Mr G-agen, the defendant being Dr Lightbourne, of Feilding, and the damages £50. Evidence on, behalf of the defendant was taken m the Resident Magistrate's Courfe yesterday afternoon, . the , witnesses examined I being I)rs. Diver, Henry, 'aricl \ Grmoej. i all of whom deposed that m ; their opinion Dr. Lightbourne had done what was right under the circumstances. The operation undergone by the I defendant consisted of an attempt Ito remove or hide a scar caused by a | kick from a horse 'some years previously.' ; A silver plate. was placed over the disfigurement, and the whole was covered with skin .removed from the arm, The attempt did not prove successful, m consequence of alleged unskilful treatment, and proceedings were iiistitu ted against the operator. The Vase 1 for the plaintiff was> conducted by Mr. Travers, Mr Shaw appeared on the other side. The depositions of the witnesses will be forwarded to Feilding, where the suit will be decided.'
