Mr F. W. Frankland, the Registrar of (Friendly- Societies, who has come to Auckland Htj.thp .request of the Government m conneclioa vrith 1 the proved alterations m the .friendly Societies Aqt, has had a conference with tho committee appointed! by the. friendly societies 1 delegates. The conference was a lengthy one, but it was agreed that the result should not be mado public until the cotntnittee makes* its report to the meeting of delegates, which is to held early next month. The Government are most anxious to obtain the views of the friendly societies as far as possible.
