The Star says that the case is a singularly sad and distressing He is the youngest soni of a Ngentlenian who was a large; ruriholcler m the South some years ago, and who subsequently returned to England to enjoy his well-earned competency. The brothers .of fclu 1 accused occupy very responsible positions, and he Himself held a place of considerable trust m a 1 town m the Middle Island. FT is father and mother are now on he way out to the Colony on a visit. Skelly's offence was misappropriating a money-order telegram given to him by a Maori for the purpose of being cached.
