The Adelaide Collision.

Decision of the Court'

(BY ELECTIttO TELEQHArH. —COPYRIGHT.) (renter's telegrams ) Melbourne, April 9. ' The Navigation Board concluded its enquiry re Adelaide- Wairarapa collision to-day and delivered its decision. The Board found that the Adelaide being overtaken that vessel was bound by regulations to keep out of the way of the ' Wairarapa, and that Captain Lockyer was therefore responsible for the casualty. Taking into consideration tlie darkness and the daugers of the channel, the Board considered, it highly reprehensible to proceed at such a high' rate of speed, the vessels being 1 m dangerous proximity. The Board suspended the certificates of Captain Lockyer for 2 mouths, and severely censuredjbbth masters, cautioning them as to the future. Captain Derlin, nautical assessor, entered a protest against the finding of the Board, being of opinion that both masters were responsible for the collision.
