There were 24 natives interested at Napier who had notaigned, and tho difficulty to obtain their uamos.. At length it was agreed, on he suggestion of Renatii Kawcpo, that the deed should betaken to Napier for that purpose.and Captain Mairand^ome two or three Mnoris at onco left Paluimerston to obtain the necessary signatures. When the deed is complete the purchase money, amounting; to £43,000, will l>e paid to the owners or thtir representatives.
