Stationmaster Suspended.

Official Investigation. Biddiro 1 , stationuiaster at Werribeo, who loft his daughter m charge of the atation;anU isthus alleged lo have caused disastrous railway accident near Little, Rivei Station^ has been suspended. The Government have decided to institute' an enquiry into the circumstances under which the accident occurred, outside of the departmental investigaiion. , . April 3rd, evening. 'The woman killed by the railway collision has not yet been identified. The second-class carriage which, was next~*-tb "the tender of the "passenger train and was smashed to pieces, contained 20 passengers, nearly all of whom are injured, some being pinned to their seats by broken timber. Among these were Mrs Beal), whose thigh is broken, Annie Peet injured internally, Mrs Milne suffering from concussion of the brain,and Phoebe Hart seriously injured, and now m a state of coma. The engines of both trains have been rendered useless by the collision, and great damage has been done to the roiling stock, Traffio for some time was suspended, but hns now been rentored. It has been ascertained that the station-master at Werribee was absent at a concert when the collision occurred. Melbourne, April 3. The latest news to hand from Sunbury states that the driver of the engine the boiler of which exploded is very. seriously injured and is not expected to recover. The fireman's body, quite dead, has been found some distance from the engine where ib had been thrown by the force of the explosion.
