THE RAILWAY ACCIDENT.
— ♦ Furthar Particulars. Detiils of the Casualty. List of Injured. (by electric telegraph— copy bight) (reutek t s telegrams.) M' LBOURNE, Ap»il 3. The accident occurred about 10 o'clock last night, neai the Little Biver Station, on the Horshiun Line, about 30 miles from Melbourne. The facts are that the passenger train from Ballarat came into collision with a special cattle train from Melbourne. The cattle train consisted of only empty trucks, and the collision took place at a curve which prevented the drivers froni seeing the trains approaching one another until too late to prevent the catastrophe. Latest telegrams from Litllc River give the. following as the list of the injured :— Miss Adams, of Sanrlridge, severe shock and internal injuries; Davies, injuried m the head and now m a comatose state; Miss Dawson, badly shaken ; Mrs Phoebe, of Latrobestreet, severe shock ; Walker, fireman of cattle train, internal injuriea and ribs fractured; McMurtie, guard of passenger train, shoulder dislocated and wound on temple ; lady (name un known) nose fractured and severely shaken ; another lady, leg broken.
